Job Description
- Develop and maintain a network of reliable drayage carriers.
- Negotiate competitive rates and terms with carriers to optimize costs and service levels.
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch drayage loads based on client requirements and delivery timelines.
- Monitor shipment progress, address delays, and communicate updates to clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Provide accurate and timely freight quotes tailored to client needs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to build and retain strong client relationships.
- Follow up with the accountant handling payables for all carriers’ invoices payment status
- Manage and maintain accurate shipment records, including bills of lading, invoices, TIR (trailer interchange receipt) & EIR ( Equipment Interchange Receipt ) and delivery receipts.
- Proactively address and resolve issues such as port congestion, driver availability, and equipment shortages.
- Implement creative solutions to streamline operations and meet client needs.
- Stay updated on drayage market trends, port operations, and industry regulations.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve operations and increase profitability.
- Using ITS fir all loads being executed and making sure rates are added correctly and ready for billing.
Job Requirements
- Excellent command of the English language with American accent.
- BA in Logistics, supply chain management or business administration is a plus.
- Proficiency in logistics and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or TMS) is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
