Job Description
- Research and identify vendors for construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Issue purchase orders based on project requirements, ensuring materials meet quality standards and budget constraints.
- Coordinate the purchasing of raw materials, tools, and equipment used on construction sites.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the availability and timely delivery of materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Track and manage supplier performance metrics, including lead times and delivery schedules.
- Track material usage and proactively reorder supplies to avoid shortages or delays on construction projects.
- Work with the finance department to reconcile purchase orders and invoices for accurate billing.
- Work closely with project managers and field teams to understand project requirements and material needs.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules by ensuring that materials are delivered on time and within budget.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using inventory software and ERP systems.
