Job Description
The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies that drive brand visibility, increase product availability, and maximize sales performance across modern trade, distribution, and wholesale channels. This senior role requires close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure our products are effectively positioned in the market, in line with consumer needs and business objectives.
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement trade marketing plans to support sales objectives and brand strategies.
- Design channel-specific activation plans for modern trade, general trade, and wholesalers.
- Work closely with Sales to ensure alignment on targets and promotional activities.
Channel & Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key trade partners and retailers.
- Plan and execute in-store activations, promotions, and visibility programs.
- Negotiate with trade partners for better placement, visibility, and promotional opportunities.
Execution & Operations
- Oversee the rollout of trade marketing materials, POSM (Point of Sale Materials), and displays.
- Monitor execution standards across channels to ensure brand consistency.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain to ensure stock availability for promotions.
Performance Tracking & Analysis
- Track ROI of trade promotions and campaigns.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to optimize trade strategies.
- Prepare regular trade marketing performance reports for senior management.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Product Innovation teams.
- Ensure alignment of trade marketing initiatives with the overall brand strategy.
Job Requirements
Experience:
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in trade marketing, sales, or channel management (FMCG, beauty, or personal care industry preferred).
- Strong track record of managing trade marketing campaigns with measurable success.
- In-depth knowledge of modern trade, general trade, and wholesale channel dynamics.
- Proven ability to negotiate, influence, and build relationships with trade partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in sales data analysis and ROI tracking.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/CRM systems.
- Ability to travel as required to oversee market execution.
