Job Description

Role Objective: To establish a strategic marketing function with a focus on business development in the rapidly growing retail market. This role involves developing and implementing marketing plans within a defined timeframe, formulating the overall marketing and communication strategy, and overseeing its execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the marketing strategy and plan, and supervise its implementation.
  • Formulate the marketing and communication budget and ensure the department adheres to it.
  • Prepare and review the annual marketing budget, ensuring adequate funding for all activities. Periodically monitor expenditure against approved budgets and reconcile variances to ensure on-target performance.
  • Lead all activities of the Marketing Department, including Brand Management, Market Research & Analysis, acquisition of new brands/agencies, New Product Conceptualization, and new business development.
  • Conduct industry and market research and analysis to support company expansion plans and the development of new markets, products, and clients.
  • Establish guidelines for the brand values and usage for all brands, including in-house brands.
  • Ensure that brand-building events, sales campaigns, and various media advertisements are delivered with marketing expertise, creativity, quality standards, and optimal cost.
  • Oversee the design and development of in-house promotional materials, publications, and marketing collateral.
  • Oversee the conduct of regular Client Satisfaction Surveys to gather consumer insights into services delivered.
  • Monitor all advertising and media activity across segments; manage media booking, creative briefs, monitoring and reporting of competitive activity, agency/supplier interface, conceiving and implementing appropriate promotional activity, and evaluating and monitoring spend against budget.
  • Manage all media relations on behalf of the company (e.g., radio, newspapers, magazines, sponsorships) to ensure that various events (e.g., openings, sales, promotions, brand building, editorial coverage) are carried out professionally and timely.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of the market, current and potential business opportunities, and ensure that the company meets the qualification criteria for all new opportunities.
  • Manage and handle promotions; plan and prepare advertising and promotional material to increase sales of products, and work with customers, company officials, sales departments, and advertising agencies.
  • Develop and review marketing policies based on business needs, and develop all necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient management within the company and compliance with marketing policies and procedures by all department staff.

Digital Marketing Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, email, and search engines.
  • Manage the company's online presence, including websites and social media platforms, to drive engagement and brand loyalty.
  • Analyze digital marketing performance metrics (e.g., website traffic, conversion rates, and ROI) to optimize campaigns and inform future strategies.
  • Oversee content creation for all digital channels, ensuring it aligns with brand identity and marketing goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies to ensure the company remains competitive.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing.
  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing would be preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience within the marketing function for a fashion-related brand retailer is a must.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial position.
  • The capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes, and identify inconsistencies in data.
  • Advanced negotiation skills to get the best advertising space at the best price.
  • Proven experience in Digital Marketing.
  • Certificate from one of the social media platforms, preferably Google or Equal Identity.
