Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Specification and Tender Package Engineer to join our engineering service company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive specifications, technical documentation, and tender packages for residential and commercial building projects. The engineer will collaborate with the design team, clients, and contractors to ensure that all project requirements are properly documented and communicated.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project specifications in accordance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to gather relevant technical information for inclusion in specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Prepare tender packages, including scope of work, bill of quantities, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Update and maintain a database of specifications, technical documents, and tender package templates.
- Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to building design and construction.
- Provide technical support, clarification, and guidance to project teams and contractors during the construction phase.
- Review and evaluate bids and proposals received from contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in the coordination and clarification of technical details during the tendering process.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that specifications and tender packages align with design intent and project goals.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Arch, Structural, or related field).
- Proven experience (4+ years) in preparing specifications and tender packages for residential and commercial building projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and building codes/regulations.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools for specification writing and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Familiarity with tendering processes and contract administration is preferred.
