Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure workstations, routers, printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices for the employees and clients.
- Check and test the hardware and software components of the computer systems and networks to ensure functionality and security.
- Install and update the software applications and systems used by the company, such as inventory management, shipping tracking, customs clearance, and invoicing.
- Perform regular backups and data recovery of the computer systems and networks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any IT issues that arise during the operations process, such as network failures, software errors, or hardware malfunctions.
- Communicate and coordinate with the IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure the optimal performance and availability of the IT resources.
- Maintain records and logs of IT activities, incidents, and solutions.
- Provide guidance to the employees and clients on how to operate and troubleshoot the IT systems and applications.
- Research and recommend new IT solutions and technologies that can improve the efficiency and quality of the freight forwarding service.
Job Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A certification as an IT technician, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or Cisco Certified Network Associate.
- At least two years of experience as an IT technician, preferably in a freight forwarding or logistics company.
- A thorough knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems and protocols, such as Windows, Linux, TCP/IP, VPN, LAN, WAN, etc.
- A good understanding of the freight forwarding industry and the IT requirements and regulations involved.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.
