Job Description
Job Purpose
To ensure the safety and security of the pharmaceutical manufacturing site, its personnel, assets, and sensitive information through the development, implementation, and management of robust physical and procedural security measures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Security Operations Management
- Supervise all daily security operations across the site and its facilities (gates, fences, perimeter, access control).
- Monitor site-wide CCTV and alarm systems and ensure prompt response to incidents.
- Coordinate guard force deployment and shift schedules across all facilities.
- Implement and update emergency response and evacuation procedures.
2. Access Control and Surveillance
- Manage ID badge systems, visitor management procedures, and vehicle entry permissions.
- Ensure surveillance systems (CCTV, motion detection, alarms) are fully operational and monitored effectively.
- Review security footage and incident logs regularly to detect trends or vulnerabilities.
3. Compliance and Policy Enforcement
- Develop, enforce, and review security policies and SOPs aligned with GMP and local legal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Coordinate with QA/HR to ensure alignment between security and regulatory protocols.
4. Incident Management
- Investigate security breaches, thefts, and other incidents, and prepare formal reports.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Lead or support internal inquiries and disciplinary actions involving security violations.
5. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the site’s security team (including supervisors and guards).
- Conduct training and drills on crisis response, workplace violence, theft prevention, etc.
- Evaluate performance of security staff and ensure professional conduct is maintained.
6. Coordination with Other Departments
- Work closely with HR on employee investigations and misconduct issues.
- Coordinate with IT for cybersecurity access controls (physical/IT integration).
- Support General Services for logistics involving VIP visits, transportation security, and facility access.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in industrial or corporate security, with 2+ years in a managerial role. Pharmaceutical/GMP environment is preferred.
- Certifications: Security Management (e.g., CPP, PSP), First Aid, Fire Safety is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in CCTV and access control systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
Knowledge of regulatory and legal security requirements in pharma manufacturing
