Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Import Coordination: Manage the end-to-end import process of chemical raw materials, including purchase order tracking, shipment arrangement, customs clearance, and final delivery.
- Supplier Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for international suppliers, building strong relationships and ensuring clear and timely communication regarding order status, shipping schedules, and documentation requirements.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and maintain all necessary import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of analysis, and customs declarations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Egyptian regulations.
- Customs Clearance: Liaise with customs brokers to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance processes, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
- Freight Management: Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers to secure competitive rates and optimize transportation routes for both sea and air shipments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor incoming shipments and coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt and accurate inventory management of chemical raw materials.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay up-to-date on relevant import regulations, safety standards, and handling procedures for chemical materials, ensuring adherence to all legal and company requirements.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any logistical challenges or discrepancies that may arise during the import process.
- Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of all import activities and generate regular reports on shipment status, costs, and potential areas for improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, quality control, and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of import activities with overall business operations.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to optimize import costs, including negotiating better rates with suppliers and logistics providers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in import logistics, with a specific focus on chemical raw materials.
- Proven understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements in Egypt.
- Strong knowledge of shipping terms (Incoterms), freight forwarding processes, and transportation modes.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with international suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems or logistics management software is a plus.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
