Job Description
Job DescriptionThe role is responsible for the sanctions screening activities with emphasis on the best quality and timely delivery of services. To assist the management for the daily, weekly, and monthly reports of the AML initiative monitoring and AML risk assessment.ResponsibilitiesApprove and assess investigated transactions, evaluating their status and determining the appropriate actions to resolve any identified issues.Ensure timely reporting of all suspicious activity alerts, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.Collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve alerts, ensuring effective communication and sharing of client information as necessary.Verify that all clients undergoing the onboarding process are thoroughly screened against current sanctions lists to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.Manage and update all sanctions lists (e.g., UN, OFAC, and other international sanctions), ensuring that the subunit remains in full compliance with evolving global regulations.Conduct annual regional Risk Assessment Workshop, prepare analysis of results, and execute the AML risk responses including management and conduct of the AML monitoring and surveillance program.Ensure timely and accurate responses to the annual money laundering/Sanction risk assessment.Identify areas requiring attention or strengthening and recommend changes and improvements in line with Industry standards and applicable regulations.Perform any other duties assigned to by line manager related to the nature of the workEnforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security (EIS) policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations QualificationsPreferred QualificationsHave a tertiary level qualification from an internationally recognized institutionYears & Nature of ExperienceRecommended 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience where required competencies and experience has been demonstrated of compliance and AML experience.Preferred experience in AML suspicious activity transaction monitoring systems, data mining/analytical tools, and KYC automated solution.Expert in banking products and financial institutions, and of minimum with Trade Finance, Treasury, Correspondent banking, Swift, credit cards and charge cards operation, etc.A specialist individual contributor or a team lead who has managed and delivered projectsHas team or technical supervision skillsDemonstrated expertise and experience with complex technical activities Has worked with more senior staff and dealt with complex issues, larger clients, accounts, projects, or internal relationships.Technical CompetenciesCompliance Alert InvestigationEthical CultureBehavioral CompetenciesDecision MakingCommunicationTeam WorkSense Making
