Job Description

  • Develop and refine MEL tools, indicators, and data collection methods in line with project objectives.  
  • Coordinate regular monitoring visits to project sites and ensure adherence to data collection protocols.  
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance against set goals.  
  • Maintain an updated MEL database to ensure accurate and timely reporting.  
  • Generate comprehensive MEL reports, highlighting key findings, successes, challenges, and recommendations.  
  • Facilitate learning sessions to share insights, lessons learned, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Document and disseminate success stories and case studies from project implementation.  
  • Provide training and technical assistance to project staff and partners on MEL principles, tools, and techniques.  
  • Build capacity in data management and analysis to foster a data-driven decision-making culture.  
  • Work closely with the project management team to integrate MEL processes into project activities.  
  • Ensure MEL activities comply with donor requirements and organizational standards.  

Collaborate with external evaluators, partners, and stakeholders during evaluations and audits

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferable. 
  • An advanced degree or certification in MEL is an advantage. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in MEL, preferably in the development or humanitarian sector.  
  • Proven experience in data collection, management, and analysis.  
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, or Power BI).  
  • Knowledge of MEL frameworks like Log frame Approach, Results-Based Management, or Theory of Change.  
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.  
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.  

Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
