Job Description
Tendering in Landscape field of business (softscape and irrigation).
- Preparing and submitting bids: They develop and submit detailed proposals to clients, ensuring they meet all requirements and are competitive.
- Analyzing project requirements: They thoroughly review project specifications, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to understand the scope of work.
- Cost estimation: They prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, to ensure the bid is accurate and profitable.
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers: They identify and manage subcontractors and suppliers, obtaining quotations and comparing prices to ensure the best value.
- Preparing comparison sheets: They compare quotations from different vendors and suppliers to determine the most cost-effective options.
- Negotiating with suppliers: They negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable prices and delivery schedules.
Contracting:
- Contract review: They review contracts to ensure they are compliant with legal and project requirements.
- Risk assessment: They identify and assess potential risks related to the contract, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Project management: They monitor project progress, track expenditures, and report on performance against the contract.
- Change management: They manage contract changes, including cost and schedule impacts.
- Client interface: They communicate with clients to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.
- Documentation: They maintain accurate project documentation, including contract records, change orders, and project reports.
Job Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical skills: Strong understanding of Landscape (softscape and irrigation) practices, project management principles, and cost estimation techniques.
- Analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and make sound decisions.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Negotiation skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Software proficiency: Familiarity with MS office software, cost estimation software, and other relevant tools.
- Industry knowledge: Understanding of Landscape contracts, construction contracts, and best practices.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering (agricultural, civil, architectural, or related field) is typically required.
- Relevant experience in tendering, contracting is often preferred.
- Experience in the specific Landscape projects (softscape, plantation irrigation system) may be required.
