POSITION SUMMARY Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium food retailer, is looking for a team player, with a 'can-do' attitude, an eye for detail and able to apply their skills in a prompt & practical manner as Merchandise Planner ORGANIZATIONAL FIT This person, with the primary area of responsibility in stock availability The Planner is accountable for ensuring optimal stock availability in our retail stores, which aims to maximize sales and customer satisfaction through stock availability and minimizing inventory levels at the same time. He/she will generate and manipulate product level forecasts, based on historical data and known future events to influence the accuracy of planning. The Planner reports directly to the Replenishment and Freight Manager and will work with several colleagues and could have one or more Replenishment Analysts which reports directly to the Planner. This role will require coordination with the Replenishment Analysts to perform the required tasks to maintain the targeted stock and wastage levels. The role will collaborate with Commercial teams to understand future plans and strategies which will impact stock requirements,Suppliers in sharing forecasts, analyze service levels to understand challenges and jointly work on mitigating measures.Warehouse & factories to help make sure that other areas of the Supply Chain are also ready for upcoming plans/events. KEY ROLE Description of Key areas of performance: Maintain optimal stock availability and wastage levels for Ingredients and Selling Products in Warehouses, Production Units and Retail StoresAssist with Category profitability by analyzing internal and external data to identify opportunities.Collaborate across functions to drive Service Levels and Supply Chain efficiencies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES STOCK AVAILABILITYUse historical store sales data and known future events to forecast sales and production requirements for Stores and Production UnitsCalculate ingredient requirements from production requirements, using recipes, to ensure adequate ingredients are available at the right place at the right time for production, taking all supply chain considerations into account WASTAGE/AGED STOCK MANAGEMENTPlan ingredients and finished products keeping sales and wastage targets in mindReview aging stock within respective dept and identify the key causes and look to reduce by appropriate actions (forecast adjustments/MOQ challenge etc)PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTShould spend time personally and with line manager to identify areas of strengths and areas for development. REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Should be analytical by nature. A good listener with strong communication and interpersonal skillsThis candidate should be able to analyze data and propose practical solutions. Good understanding of FMCG Retail, stock management processes and understanding of data and analytics JOB SPECIFICATION At least 2 – 4 years’ experience in planning or similar roleExperience with replenishment systems and methodologiesExperience with analytical systemsAble to work under pressure, and past pace working environment. Ability to multi-task, work alone and in a team.Ability to interact effectively within a diverse workforce and customer base. Relevant Qualification with at least 3-5 years practical work experience in similar role Good command of English.Positive, forward-thinking person.Local and International travel will be required.
