Job Description
- Production Planning and Scheduling a.
- Develop production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity of production lines and machinery.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure that resources (e.g., labor, equipment, materials) are efficiently allocated.
- Schedule production work orders to minimize downtime, maximize throughput, and meet customer requirements timely.
- Monitor production progress, adjust schedules when needed, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Inventory Management a.
- Oversee the management of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory to ensure optimum stock levels are maintained
- Issue purchase requisitions and work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment of materials based on production needs.
- Manage inventory control systems to reduce waste, and optimize stock levels. 3) Demand Forecasting .
- Analyze demand requirements and develop demand and production forecasts b. Ensure that production and procurement plans are aligned with customer demand while maintaining flexibility to adjust to fluctuations.
- Reporting and Data Analysis a.
- Provide regular reports on production performance, inventory levels, scheduling accuracy, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Use data analysis to assess production trends, identify issues, and recommend improvements.
- Address production-related challenges, such as material shortages, equipment breakdowns, or unexpected demand spikes, by developing corrective actions and contingency plans.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and ensure minimal disruption to the production process.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM, Six Sigma, or similar) are a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in production planning
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies is desirable.
- Competent in problem solving to identify complex technical problems and solve them accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal teams
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
