Job Description
- Coordinate all shipments for all locations either from China or Europe by sea or by air or special courier.
- Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, and damages, and ensure insurance certificates on all shipments.
- Follow schedules of order importation according to the priorities of the planning department.
- Work with carrier and third-party services of all kinds to get the most economical rates for shipments.
- Document invoices and payment postings as the agreement between us and all suppliers.
- Correspond and frequent contact with our suppliers ; report client requests matching with our agreement.
- Assist logistics coordinator, ware product house specialists, and operations manager when needed to meet the schedule of products per frequent arrival.
- Ensure shipping carrier requirements and regulations are met especially the new addition of the ACID process.
- Notify interested persons if shipments are delayed to re-schedule the production plan.
- Track shipment details, locations, contact, and ETAs to get as quick our shipments.
- Communicate with carriers regarding service levels and frequent contacts with our clearing office.
- Update shipping system with rates, surcharges, and service standards to ensure less spending on shipping costs.
- Work with managers and team members to implement new strategies and initiatives to develop our business.
- Update service-level reports and provide analysis of findings by informing management of ongoing performance.
Job Requirements
- BS in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Proficient in standard logistics software.
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
- Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Alexandria resident.
- Fluent in English.
