Job Description
Independent responsibility of Planning Department for preparation of Bar Charts, Construction Programs, Construction Planning, Crash Programs, Cash Flow.
Studies contracts documents to become fully knowledgeable of projects requirements, specifications and constraints
Review projects construction plans to ensure the achievement of the Company's overall objectives, in line with the company strategy.
Ensures that all the requirements and constraints for: engineering, design, construction, procurement and delivery of material, availability of manpower and equipment are included in the schedules.
Prepares weekly/monthly time management reports for the business unit management.
Contributes and highlights to the management any foreseeable delays, risks or areas of concern and provide possible recovery strategies.
Monitors the productivity of new/ongoing projects based on actual progress and provides feedback to estimation, cost control and operation functions.
Identifying items on Critical Path, suggestive programs for Recovery Programs and other Planning
Responsible for the allocation of planning engineers to the projects and managing them in coordination with the construction team.
Supervises and checks the tender schedules with resulting resources histograms.
Lead the planning team to develop the most appropriate method and sequence of operations for different projects
Responsible for the training and development of personnel in the Planning department.
Ensures development, review and improvement of his/her department’s process and procedure.
Monitor construction progress and assist the Project Manager in the preparation of recovery action plans to address the delays and keep the project on the right track.
Analyses the accelerated plans and performs crash analysis.
Checks for accuracy and consistency in progress updates, critical path and near critical activity analysis, schedule change management, forecasts, recovery / revised plans, client and internal progress reporting, and providing timely output and accurate information to the construction team.
Participates (if needed) in construction progress meetings across the projects to check the updated schedules and suggest corrective actions if any.
Analyses the variation orders and evaluates their time impact.
Supports the planning team in all issues related to planning and scheduling activities.
Organize to pre-warn Operations Team and management for requirement of extension of time.
Raise early warnings of potential risks to project delivery; identify solutions therefor, in conjunction with the Projects Managers; reorganizing programmed activities as necessary to mitigate any time, disruption or cost impact and to expedite the work to finish the project on time.
Monitoring contractors’ work progress comparing with project baselines Coordinating contractors’ efforts in project planning
Keep abreast with latest rules, regulations, laws, by-laws and/or notifications issued by statutory authorities.
Review and analyses the areas of delays of the updated schedule and follow up with Site Teams of all parties to expedite the work and finish the project on time.
Providing projects control summary to relevant stakeholders
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction (or similar) field.
- PMP Certification is an advantage
- Computer skills – Primavera Project Planner & Enterprise
