Job Description
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
Lead and supervise planning engineers across projects, ensuring consistency in methods and tools.
Develop planning procedures and best practices across all projects.
Liaise with senior management to align planning strategies with overall company goals.
Project Scheduling & Controls:
Develop, review, and approve baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and revised schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
Ensure integration of scope, time, and cost planning elements in all schedules.
Monitor project progress against the approved schedule, identifying deviations and delays.
Monitoring & Reporting:
Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
Evaluate EVM (Earned Value Management), resource histograms, S-curves, and productivity indicators.
Lead delay analysis and provide forensic planning input when required.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely updates.
Participate in client meetings and presentations to defend and explain the schedule or updates.
Team Development & Support:
Train and mentor planning engineers to ensure skill growth and consistency in output.
Conduct performance reviews and recommend development plans for the planning team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in project planning, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office.
- Strong knowledge of planning standards, methodologies, and project control processes.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- PMP, PSP, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
