Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Initiation:
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure clear communication within the team.
- Conduct regular team meetings to track progress, address challenges, and foster collaboration.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Monitor project expenditures against the approved budget, identifying and addressing variances.
- Manage change orders and claims, negotiating with clients and subcontractors as needed.
- Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports.
- Schedule Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using appropriate project management software.
- Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Quality Assurance & Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is performed to specifications and industry standards.
- Address any non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks (e.g., technical, financial, environmental, safety).
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
- Monitor and review risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and other stakeholders.
- Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and transparent reporting.
- Address client concerns and ensure their satisfaction with project progress and outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
- Procurement & Contract Management:
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Negotiate favorable terms and resolve any contractual disputes.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Champion a strong safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all HSE policies and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Investigate and report on any incidents or accidents.
- Promote environmental responsibility on site.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, drawings, reports, and communications.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports, financial reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure proper close-out documentation upon project completion.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering construction management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience 10-15 Years in the same field, more than 7 years with the same level.
- Certified - e.g., PMP, LEED, CMAA certification is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations (local and international standards).
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Aconex).
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, legal aspects, and procurement processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Fluency in e.g., English and Arabic is a strong asset.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with frequent travel to construction sites (inside and outside Egypt)
- May require working extended hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.
