Job Brief
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Engineer to take full responsibility for the technical operations of the vessel, including the maintenance and functioning of all engine and mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid 2nd Class Engineer certificate (or higher) and bring extensive experience in marine engineering operations.
This role demands strong leadership, in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to ensure vessel readiness, safety compliance, and operational efficiency at all times.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure vessel operations adhere to good marine practices and comply with all relevant company, client, and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain vessel standards to meet class, client, and statutory regulations.
Liaise with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers to provide technical guidance and support.
Plan and schedule safe, efficient maintenance and repair of vessel machinery and equipment.
Start up and shut down propulsion and auxiliary machinery as required.
Monitor, operate, and evaluate engine performance and system capacity.
Maintain safety and operational integrity of all engine-related systems and equipment.
Manage fuel and ballast operations efficiently and safely.
Operate and troubleshoot electrical and electronic control equipment, identifying and correcting faults as necessary.
Detect causes of machinery malfunction and perform corrective action to ensure minimal downtime.
Lead and supervise the Marine Engineering team onboard, ensuring maintenance work is thorough and efficient.
Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, fuel, and lubricants.
Support reporting managers with official tasks and assignments as required.
Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001 Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a similar role within the marine industry.
Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, safety standards, and maintenance protocols.
