Job Description
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and support multi-site connectivity, VLANs, VPN tunnels, and cloud-based networking.
- Administer IP address schemas, firewall rules, and switch configurations.
- Implement and enforce network security policies to safeguard organizational data.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and apply necessary updates or patches.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
- Plan and implement system upgrades, including hardware and software updates.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Provide recommendations for network improvements and capacity planning.
- Support end-users with network-related issues, including connectivity and access problems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve escalated issues.
- Train staff on proper network usage and security protocols.
- Liaise with vendors for purchasing, support, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance the network infrastructure.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in network administration, with both technical and managerial responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong background in implementing network security protocols and practices.
- Proven experience in a network administrator role
- Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
- Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
