Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage educational / non-educational applications throughout their life cycle
- Understand and support the academy’s educational processes by identifying functional and manageability requirements for application software
- Lead the design, deployment, ongoing support, and continual improvement of the academy’s applications
- Third-level support for Incidents related to the application(s)
- Involvement in operations testing plans and deployment issues
- Application bug tracking and patch management
- Involvement in application operability and supportability issues, such as error code design, error messaging, and Event Management hooks
- Application sizing and performance, volume metrics and load testing, and so on in support of Capacity and Availability Management processes
- Involvement in developing Release policies
- Identification of enhancements to existing software, from both a functionality and a manageability perspective
- Maintain application management documentation: application portfolio, manuals, design documentation, application requirements, use & change cases
- Plan annual applications budget (including application expenditures and operations)
- Manage non-IT (educational) related application responsibilities, associated to:
- Scheduling
- Grading / Report Cards
- Transcripts
- Develop and maintain professional relation with the academy’s different business units and establish effective solutions to meet business requirements
- Manage the Application Team
- Work closely with the IT department to ensure all applications’ integrity and stability
- Manage both cloud and on-premises applications
- Serve additional hours required as needed for work or activities and events
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree
- 5+ years in Application Management
- English / Arabic: Fluent spoken and written (English fluency is a must)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Computer Science / Information Systems major
- Solid experience in software development (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, .NET)
- Solid experience and managing and leading projects
- Experience working with domains / portals
- Basic knowledge of ITIL / ITIL certified
- Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
- Knowledge of database and application server concepts
- Experience working with educational / school applications
- Knowledge in Networks, Virtualization, and Cloud Computing
