Job Description
Malvern College Egypt is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT & Data Center Manager to architect, implement, and maintain world-class IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead IT teams in managing on-premises and hybrid environments, focusing on high availability, security, disaster recovery, cloud integration, and scalability.
This is a leadership position requiring broad technical expertise combined with excellent team management and planning skills.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of IT experience including 3+ years in infrastructure leadership roles.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft: MCSA / MCSE / Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Cisco: CCNA (Routing & Switching, VLAN security)
- VMware: VCP or VCTA (vSphere, HA, DRS)
- Firewall: Fortinet NSE / Sophos Certified Engineer
- ITSM: ITIL or practical knowledge of ServiceDesk systems

- Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of existing infrastructure; recommend scalable, future-proof solutions.
- Design and manage datacenter operations (power, cooling, rack organization, structured cabling).
- Deploy and manage virtualization solutions (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, SCVMM).
- Implement hybrid architectures integrating with Azure.
- Administer Active Directory (AD) and Federation Services (ADFS) with hybrid cloud identity.
- Manage server OS (Windows/Linux), Group Policy, file/print services, DHCP/DNS.
- Configure, monitor, and optimize storage (SAN/NAS), Dell Unity/EMC, Dell VxRail.
- Maintain backup and DR solutions (Veeam, Veritas, Acronis, Druva).
- Design and manage LAN/WAN, VLANs, spanning-tree, firewall security (Sophos, Fortinet NSE).
- Implement security policies for access control, patch management, vulnerability scanning.
- Integrate SIEM (Wazuh) with centralized logging and incident response frameworks.
- Manage on-prem and cloud firewalls, web filtering, DDoS mitigation (Cloudflare WAF/Zero Trust).
- Deploy hybrid identity platforms (Azure Active Directory, SSO, MFA).
- Manage Azure Storage Accounts, compute, and virtual networking.
- Plan and implement Microsoft 365 hybrid setups (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint).
- Administer Google Workspace environments and security.
- Lead a team of engineers, administrators, and helpdesk specialists.
- Define KPIs, track SLAs, manage ITSM tools (ServiceDesk Plus, ManageEngine Suite).
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a learning-focused work culture.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to align IT with institutional growth.
