Job Description
- Gather and analyze project requirements and design documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Utilize historical data and market rates to estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare detailed project budgets, incorporating contingencies and risk factors.
- Collaborate with project management to review and refine cost estimates and budgets.
- Develop cost-saving strategies and alternative solutions to optimize the project budget.
- Monitor actual project costs against the approved budget and identify variances.
- Analyze root causes of cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare cost analysis reports highlighting overruns, savings, and financial performance.
- Develop cash flow projections considering revenue and expense timing.
- Maintain accurate records of all cost-related data, including estimates, budgets, and invoices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control within the construction or infrastructure industry.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Primavera, or AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
