Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer specializing in roads and bridges construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services essential for the successful execution of road and bridge construction projects.

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials, equipment, and services required for road and bridge projects.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost-effectiveness without compromising quality and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to understand project requirements and timelines for material procurement.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, and technologies that align with project needs and cost objectives.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, review contracts, and manage the procurement process from RFQ to delivery, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance evaluations.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and manage relationships to ensure on-time delivery and quality of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability of supplies to meet project deadlines.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulations impacting the procurement process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field; additional certifications in procurement or supply chain are a plus.
  • Proven track record of 5 years experience in procurement within the construction industry, specifically in roads and bridges projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and negotiation techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, suppliers, and industry standards related to road and bridge construction.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
