Job Description
Position Overview
The Office 365 Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s Microsoft 365 (Office 365) environment. This role ensures seamless collaboration, communication, and productivity through the effective use of Microsoft cloud technologies, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related security & compliance features.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Support
Manage and administer the full Office 365 suite, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services.
Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for Office 365 users, resolving escalated incidents and service requests.
Configure and maintain user accounts, licenses, mailboxes, distribution groups, and security groups.
Monitor system health, usage, and performance of Office 365 services.
Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain security policies, including MFA, conditional access, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and information governance.
Manage compliance and data retention policies to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits of Office 365 configurations and permissions.
Collaboration & Productivity
Support Microsoft Teams configuration, governance, and integrations with third-party apps.
Administer SharePoint Online sites, permissions, and workflows.
Assist with adoption and training initiatives to maximize usage of Office 365 tools.
Integration & Migration
Assist with migration projects, including email migrations, file migrations to SharePoint/OneDrive, and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
Integrate Office 365 services with other enterprise applications.
Monitoring & Reporting
Generate reports on usage, security, and compliance.
Monitor service health dashboards and alerts to ensure proactive resolution of issues.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated with Microsoft 365 roadmap and new feature releases.
Provide recommendations for process improvements and automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as an Office 365 Administrator, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
Experience with Azure Active Directory, security groups, and conditional access policies.
Familiarity with Microsoft Intune or MDM solutions is a plus.
Understanding of compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO) preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100, MS-101, MS-700, or AZ-104) are highly desirable.
