Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join Marryat & Scott Egypt, one of the leading manufacturers of fire-rated steel doors. This role will work directly with the General Manager to expand our market presence, identify and develop new business opportunities, and drive growth in both existing and new market sectors. 

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who understands market trends, competitor landscapes, and the needs of our industry. They will be responsible for identifying market gaps, strengthening our brand presence, and exploring new products that can be manufactured using our existing facilities. Additionally, they will play a key role in developing a business development team that will help drive our long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion & Strategy
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in the door manufacturing sector.
    • Develop strategic growth plans for both local and regional expansion.
    • Explore potential entry into new sectors where fire-rated and specialty steel doors can be utilized.
    • Strengthen Marryat & Scott’s brand presence and reputation in the industry.
  • New Product Development & Diversification
    • Identify new products that can be manufactured using our existing facilities.
    • Collaborate with the technical and manufacturing teams to assess feasibility and profitability of new product lines.
    • Evaluate potential partnerships or acquisitions to enhance product offerings.
  • Business Development & Sales Support
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, developers, consultants, and government entities.
    • Work closely with the sales team to identify and pursue new business leads.
    • Lead efforts to improve bidding strategies for large projects.
    • Assist in contract negotiations and ensure alignment with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Competitor & Market Analysis
    • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market dynamics.
    • Identify unethical market practices and develop counter-strategies to maintain market integrity.
    • Provide regular reports on business performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Team Development & Leadership
    • Build and lead a business development team that aligns with the company’s growth objectives.
    • Provide training plans, mentorship, and development plans for team members.
    • Foster a results-driven and collaborative work culture.

Job Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Experience in customer support is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
