Job Description

Job Title: Business Development and Sales Manager – Upstream (Oil & Gas)

Location: Maadi, Cairo, Egypt

Industry: Oil & Gas – Upstream Services

Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and results-driven Business Development and Sales Manager – Upstream to lead our upstream business growth efforts. This role requires a technically strong and commercially skilled professional with in-depth knowledge of offshore drilling operations and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development or technical sales, particularly in the upstream domain, and will possess a strong network within Egypt’s joint venture (JV) oil and gas companies.

 

This is a strategic role responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing key client accounts, promoting specialized equipment and services, and serving as the local interface for our international partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Strategy

 

Develop and execute comprehensive business development plans focused on the upstream oil and gas market.

Identify and assess new opportunities, projects, and partnerships aligned with the company’s objectives.

Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to stay informed of trends and activities in the upstream segment.

2. Client & Partner Relationship Management

 

Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at JV companies, national oil companies (NOCs), and international oil companies (IOCs).

Act as the primary point of contact for our international suppliers, ensuring their solutions are effectively introduced and positioned in the local market.

Maintain regular engagement with clients to understand their operational challenges and propose suitable solutions.

3. Product & Service Promotion

 

Lead the promotion and sales of upstream equipment and services, including but not limited to:

Drill pipe

OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods)

Offshore pipelines

Drilling operations support services

Wellhead control systems

Subsea valves and cables

Workover services and other offshore operational solutions

Coordinate technical presentations, product demonstrations, and commercial discussions with clients and partners.

4. Proposal & Tender Management

 

Prepare and manage technical and commercial proposals in coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.

Review tender documents, identify requirements, and ensure timely and competitive submissions.

Support contract negotiations and ensure alignment with company and client expectations.

5. Market Representation

 

Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and business meetings to enhance visibility and business positioning.

Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and strategic updates for senior management.

Job Requirements

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in upstream oil and gas business development, technical sales, or drilling services.

Strong technical understanding of offshore operations, drilling technologies, and production equipment.

Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and securing contracts in the upstream market.

Established relationships with key stakeholders at Egypt’s JV companies and oil & gas operators.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Proficient in MS Office and familiar with CRM and proposal management tools.

Residing in or willing to relocate to Maadi, Cairo.
