Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tender and Cost Estimation Engineer to join our team at Modern Interiors. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the preparation of competitive bids and accurate cost estimates across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
- Prepare accurate and competitive technical and financial proposals.
- Coordinate with technical, procurement, and planning departments for bid preparation.
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
- Analyze market prices and vendor/subcontractor quotations to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Understand and work with different contract types (Lump Sum, Remeasured, Design & Build).
- Ensure compliance with tender submission requirements and deadlines.
- Utilize estimation software , Excel for cost breakdowns.
- Maintain updated databases for unit prices and suppliers.
- Assist in post-tender clarifications and cost negotiations when required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in tendering and cost estimation within a contracting firm.
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates for fit-out, finishing, and construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimation tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with different types of contracts (Lump Sum, Remeasured, Design & Build).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) an advantage.
