Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tender and Cost Estimation Engineer to join our team at Modern Interiors. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the preparation of competitive bids and accurate cost estimates across a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive technical and financial proposals.
  • Coordinate with technical, procurement, and planning departments for bid preparation.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Analyze market prices and vendor/subcontractor quotations to ensure estimate accuracy.
  • Understand and work with different contract types (Lump Sum, Remeasured, Design & Build).
  • Ensure compliance with tender submission requirements and deadlines.
  • Utilize estimation software , Excel for cost breakdowns.
  • Maintain updated databases for unit prices and suppliers.
  • Assist in post-tender clarifications and cost negotiations when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience in tendering and cost estimation within a contracting firm.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimates for fit-out, finishing, and construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimation tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with different types of contracts (Lump Sum, Remeasured, Design & Build).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) an advantage.
