Job Description
- Coordinate directly with ocean shipping lines to book export containers, confirm space and equipment availability, and negotiate freight rates when applicable.
- Schedule and monitor container movements from booking to final departure, ensuring alignment with production and customer timelines.
- Manage and prepare all required export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure full compliance with international food export regulations including FDA Prior Notice, USDA, HACCP, FSMA, and country-specific import requirements.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve issues related to container availability, port congestion, or delays.
- Communicate effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking companies, and internal departments to coordinate end-to-end shipping processes.
- Verify and confirm container load plans, temperature settings for reefer cargo, and packaging requirements for food-grade compliance.
- Maintain strong working relationships with shipping line representatives to manage allocations, rollovers, and schedule changes.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation for audits, claims, and internal reporting.
- Analyze freight costs and help optimize shipping strategies to reduce costs and improve delivery reliability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in export shipping, preferably in the food, beverage, or perishable goods sector.
- Proven experience working directly with ocean carriers and managing full container load (FCL) exports.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and food safety compliance standards.
- Familiarity with reefer container protocols, cold chain logistics, and container loading procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP and shipping software (e.g., SAP, CargoWise, or similar platforms).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferably resident at Zayed or October.
