Job Description

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the execution of marketing strategies and campaigns that promote the university’s programs, events, and brand awareness. The role involves coordinating content creation, managing social media platforms, analyzing campaign performance, and assisting in the planning and execution of promotional activities. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about digital and traditional marketing channels, especially within the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

 - Create and arrange the department’s content calendar and multimedia calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.

- Develop engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, website, blog, and email marketing.

- Conduct research to identify relevant topics and trends.

- Collaborate with the photography\videography team to coordinate and facilitate the production process.

- Write and edit compelling marketing copy for various materials, that align with the brand voice and target audience.

- Work with the social and digital team to develop content ideas and align with overall marketing goals.

- Collaborate with the multimedia teams to coordinate and execute the coverage of university outreach events, such as school visits, fairs, open houses, alumni gatherings, and academic happenings.

- Manage event logistics, including budgeting, vendor selection, and on-site coordination.

- Collaborate with academic departments and administrative teams to develop marketing materials and communication plans, including copy, visuals, and multimedia materials.

- Oversee the production of marketing materials, including brochures, giveaways, and branding assets.

Job Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in Digital Marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Mass Communication
  • Proven experience in content creation (written, visual, and/or digital)
  • University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) alumni is highly preferred
