Job Description

 

Job Purpose
The Sales Analyst – Power BI Specialist plays a key role in supporting the commercial function by delivering high-quality analytics, data insights, and dashboard solutions to optimize sales performance. This role serves as a bridge between raw data and strategic decision-making by transforming complex datasets into meaningful business intelligence. The analyst will focus heavily on using Power BI to provide dynamic visualizations and insights that empower leadership and field sales teams to act on trends, performance gaps, and customer opportunities.

Job Description

  1. Sales Data Analysis & Reporting (35%)

- Aggregate and analyze internal and external sales data, including revenue, units sold, territory performance, product category performance, and customer segmentation.

- Conduct variance and trend analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs) to understand sales drivers.

- Build and maintain automated Power BI reports and dashboards for real-time visibility into performance metrics.


 2. Business Intelligence & Visualization (30%)

- Develop advanced Power BI dashboards that present sales and market data in an accessible, interactive format.

- Create DAX measures and calculated columns to support complex business logic.

- Optimize Power BI models for performance and usability across various business units.


3. Strategic Support & Forecasting (20%)

- Partner with the sales leadership to support sales planning, territory realignment, and goal setting using data-driven insights.
- Support demand forecasting and predictive analysis efforts through historical trend modeling.

- Provide insight into campaign performance and return on investment (ROI) for marketing initiatives influencing sales.

4. Data Governance & Collaboration (15%)
- Work with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability from multiple sources (ERP, CRM, market intelligence tools).

- Document business definitions, data logic, and reporting processes for continuity and compliance.

- Train business users on how to interpret and interact with Power BI dashboards.
 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) preferred. 
  • 3–5 years of experience in a sales analyst, business analyst, or commercial analytics role.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Power BI dashboards in a business setting.
  • Experience in fast-paced, data-driven sales environments preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present data-driven narratives.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret data in a commercial context.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, visualization).
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and charts.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL for querying data.
  • Understanding of sales funnel metrics, revenue attribution models, and territory management.
