Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Extensive experience (12-15 years) in MEP design and project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team.
- Membership of a professional institution (MCIBSE, MASHRAE, IEng)
- Good knowledge of related codes (NFPA, ASHRAE, BS, IEC)
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit / Navisworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional engineering license or certification (PE)
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in managing MEP design projects in a consulting or construction environment.
Job Requirements
- Responsible to manage and oversee the planning, design/engineering, coordination and implementation, control and monitor the MEP Designing Package including Electrical, ELV, HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Gas, Fire Protection and Fire Alarm Systems.
- Manage and lead the MEP design team, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of MEP design strategies, considering project objectives and client requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers and engineers, to define project scope, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to ensure seamless integration and coordination of MEP design activities.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to established schedules, budgets, quality standards, and technical solutions.
- Conduct regular design reviews to assess compliance with project requirements, industry codes, and standards.
- Implement project controls and monitor their effectiveness, including document control, change management, and risk mitigation.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive management of their expectations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to address project-related concerns and ensure alignment.
- Monitor and manage resource allocation within the MEP design team, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Prepare regular project status reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.
- Conduct effective performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
