Job Description
- Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
- Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Coordinate all public relations activities
- Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
Job Requirements
1. Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Hospitality Management.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in PR, media relations, or communications, preferably within the hospitality, travel, or luxury sectors.
- Experience in handling crisis communication and reputation management.
- Prior work with media agencies, influencers, and hospitality brands is a plus.
2. Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
- Media Relations: Established connections with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets in the travel and hospitality industry.
- Social Media Expertise: Knowledge of digital PR, influencer marketing, and content creation.
- Crisis Management: Ability to handle negative publicity and manage brand reputation effectively.
- Event Planning: Experience in organizing PR events, press conferences, and brand activations.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute effective PR campaigns to enhance brand awareness.
- Team Leadership: Experience managing a PR team, external agencies, and cross-functional collaborations.
3. Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in PR tools such as Cision, Meltwater, or Hootsuite.
- Understanding of SEO and digital marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with hospitality brand positioning and guest engagement.
