Facility Manager

Job Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and improvement of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role involves performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, coordinating repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance & Operations:

Oversee the daily operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and mechanical systems.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.

Project Management & Improvements:

Assist in facility upgrades, renovations, and space planning.

Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for facility-related projects.

Recommend and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce operational costs.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, building codes, etc.).

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety reports.

Participate in emergency response planning and disaster recovery efforts.

Technical Support & Documentation:

Maintain facility blueprints, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs.

Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work orders and tracking.

Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff and junior engineers.

Vendor & Budget Management:

Assist in managing contracts with service providers and suppliers.

Monitor expenses and contribute to budget planning for facility operations.
