Job Description
The role of a Production Engineer with a background in stainless steel manufacturing involves overseeing the manufacturing process within an industrial setting. You ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, meeting quality standards and deadlines.
This role is crucial in bridging the gap between engineering design and practical manufacturing, aiming for efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Process Optimization: Identifying areas for improvement in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
Quality Control: Monitoring product quality through inspections and testing, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
Maintenance: Coordinating maintenance activities to keep equipment and machinery in optimal working condition, minimizing downtime.
Supply Chain Management: Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components necessary for production.
Health and Safety: Enforcing safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
Data Analysis: Analyzing production data and metrics to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Team Supervision: Leading and motivating production teams, ensuring they are well-trained and productive.
Continuous Improvement: Implementing Lean manufacturing principles or other improvement methodologies to continuously enhance processes.
Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in Production roles, preferably in product development or manufacturing environments – Home Appliance or Food Processing background is a plus.
- Knowledge of Stainless Steel: Deep understanding of stainless steel grades, properties, and their applications in manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities.
- Project management skills, including planning, organization, and execution.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations in mechanical engineering.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
