- Accepting responsibility for achieving objectives and export targets (volume, value, profits) by direct selling efforts and/ or with the sales support of agents or distributors
- Identify new business opportunities by tapping potential customers from different countries
- Finding foreign markets for existing company products or services, or suitable products for foreign markets
- Establishing an international network of agents, distributors, or customers capable of importing the goods, obtaining acceptable levels of distribution, and providing after-sales service (if necessary)
- Take initiative and efforts to develop constructive and effective solutions to any issues that slow down or hamper the export procedures and activities
- Ensure the effective implementation of the sales strategy by leading his team via objective setting, performance management, staff development, and motivation to ensure the highest performance levels.
- Make sure that potential future markets are monitored on an ongoing basis to make sure relevant and potential opportunities are slotted.
- Direct thorough monitoring and assessment of current and potential competitor activity on an ongoing basis to support the achievement of a sustainable competitive advantage
- Prepare and manage annual department budgets to ensure effective cost management.
- Liaising with departments concerned with forecasting, domestic marketing, product development, budgeting and product costing, production planning, production, distribution for any feedback needed.
- Developing expertise in foreign market rules, regulations (including those relating to labeling, health, safety, Export licensing requirements, foreign exchange regulations, product liability, agency laws), ensuring product compliance and limiting the exposure of the company to risk.
