Job Description
Network Infrastructure Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain the university's LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability.
- Manage and configure network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, IP addressing schemes, and configuration details. •
- Firewall Management and Security:
- Configure and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet) to protect the university's network from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Implement and maintain intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- VLAN Configuration and Management:
- Design and implement VLANs to segment network traffic and improve network security and performance.
- Configure and manage inter-VLAN routing and communication. o Troubleshoot VLAN-related issues
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, etc.).
- Extensive experience in configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet). • Proficiency in VLAN configuration and management. • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- • Knowledge of wireless networking technologies (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). • Experience with network security best practices and technologies.
- • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with server management and maintenance.
- Experience with email system administration.
- Experience with connecting other peripherals and devices such as IP cameras and entrance gate and fingerprint systems.
- Understanding of network cabling and infrastructure.
- Experience with network automation tools.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts
