Job Description

 

  • Help set up systems or resolve issues with staff computers, laptops and printers
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Replacing parts/ equipment as required
  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Manage Dell servers and switches
  • Administer FortiGate firewalls and network security measures.
  • Manage Digital Ocean cloud infrastructure
  • Deploy and manage Ruckus Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless networks
  • Monitor system performance and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain IT infrastructure documentation.
  • Stay updated on relevant IT trends and technologies.
  • Design IT systems and network
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Implement DevOps practices to optimize IT operations.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
  • 2-5 Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
  • Hands-on experience configuring and managing FortiGATE firewalls.
  • Experience deploying and managing Ruckus Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles 
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Additional certification in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco or similar technologies is a plus
  • Strong background and understanding of DevOps principles and practices is preferred
  • Practical experience with Digital Ocean cloud platform administration is a plus.
