Job Summary
The Export Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s fresh produce export operations, with a particular focus on grapes and dates. The role requires in-depth knowledge of the EU market and proven experience in developing new international markets. The ideal candidate will drive commercial growth, secure long-term partnerships, ensure compliance with export standards, and maximize profitability while maintaining the highest product quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage existing export business for grapes and dates, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance with customer specifications
- Develop and execute market expansion strategies in the EU and new global markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international importers, distributors, and retail partners
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term agreements with export partners
- Monitor and analyze market trends, customer demands, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
- Coordinate with internal departments (production, packhouse, logistics, quality assurance) to ensure smooth order fulfillment
- Ensure compliance with all international export regulations, certifications, and quality standards (e.g., GlobalG.A.P., BRC, organic certifications)
- Represent the company in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and B2B meetings to develop business leads
- Prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
Job Requirements
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience (minimum 7 years) in exporting fresh produce, particularly grapes and dates
- Extensive knowledge of the EU fresh produce market, including regulatory frameworks, customer preferences, and trade requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop and open new export markets
- Strong existing network of international buyers and distribution channels
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial acumen with an ability to manage pricing, margins, and profitability
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Agriculture, or a related field
- Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus)
- Willingness to travel extensively for business development
