Job Description

System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, networks, and related hardware and software. Identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively. 

Network Management:

  • Managing and maintaining local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other data communication networks. Ensuring network performance and minimal interruptions. 

Technical Support:

  • Providing technical assistance to users, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and offering guidance on best practices. 

Security and Data Management:

  • Implementing and maintaining data security measures, including user authorization and firewalls. Managing data backup and recovery procedures. 

Hardware and Software Management:

  • Installing and upgrading hardware and software components. Ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and secure. 

Documentation:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. 

Job Requirements

Education and Certifications:

  • Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP), Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE), or cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CEH) can significantly enhance your qualifications.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a related IT role is often required.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Networking: Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Hardware: Understanding of computer hardware components and troubleshooting.
  • Software: Experience with various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, and specialized software relevant to the specific role.
  • Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is becoming increasingly important.
  • Databases: Knowledge of database management systems and database administration.
  • Security: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data privacy.
  • Programming: Some roles may require knowledge of programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
