Job Description
- Technical Oversight and Coordination:
- Supervise and manage the technical office team, including engineers, draftsmen, and document controllers.
- Review, monitor, and approve shop drawings, construction documents, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate between design, site, and project management teams to resolve technical issues and discrepancies.
- Provide technical advice and solutions to ensure smooth execution of construction activities.
Project Documentation:
- Ensure that all technical documents, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and project records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Review, approve, or prepare requests for information (RFIs) and ensure timely submission and response.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and contractual correspondence.
Cost and Time Management:
- Assist in preparing and reviewing project budgets, cost estimates, and resource allocation.
- Review and validate invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor claims to ensure alignment with contractual agreements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all technical deliverables are following local regulations, codes, and international standards.
- Conduct regular quality assurance and control checks on materials, designs, and completed work.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the technical office team, ensuring efficient collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance team performance and technical skills.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between the technical office, site teams, and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates and technical reports to top management and clients.
- Handle technical queries and ensure effective communication across all project teams.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A Master’s Degree or additional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, etc.) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in construction, design, or project management.
- Proven experience in technical office management in civil or architectural projects.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, etc.).
- Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of local and international building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Advanced understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and systems.
