Job Description

  • Manage and coordinate the full life cycle of shipments (import, export, and cross-trade) across air, sea, and land freight.
  • Ensure all shipping processes, from pickup to final delivery, are executed efficiently and on time.
  • Liaise with carriers (shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies) to arrange bookings, track cargo, and manage schedules.
  • Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with local and international customs and trade regulations.
  • Submit necessary documents to customs brokers, port authorities, and relevant stakeholders for clearance.
  • Act as the point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on shipment status, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues related to cargo movement.
  • Ensure timely and clear communication with clients regarding delays, discrepancies, or challenges in the shipping process.
  • Ensure shipments comply with Egyptian and international customs regulations, including submission of required documents for customs clearance.
  • Work with customs brokers and authorities to resolve clearance issues and ensure prompt cargo release.
  • Coordinate with the pricing desk to ensure accurate quotations for clients, based on shipping requirements, routes, and carrier rates.
  • Monitor and manage operational costs, minimizing unnecessary expenses while maintaining service quality.
  • Maintain strong relationships with service providers, including shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and warehouses.
  • Negotiate competitive rates and secure timely booking and space allocation for shipments.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues such as delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies during the shipment process.
  • Escalate critical issues to the Operations Manager and propose preventive solutions.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide regular tracking updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Prepare operational reports, including shipment status, delivery times, and cost analyses, for management review.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and accounting teams to ensure smooth shipment coordination, accurate invoicing, and client satisfaction.
  • Support the Operations Manager in process optimization and overall operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in freight forwarding operations or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of international trade, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in freight management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
