Job Description

  • 1.Shipment Coordination:
    •Manage and coordinate the full life cycle of shipments (import, export, and cross-trade) across air, sea, and land freight.
    •Ensure that all shipping processes, from pickup to final delivery, are executed efficiently and on time.
    •Liaise with carriers (shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies) to arrange bookings, track cargo, and manage schedules.
    2.Documentation Management:
    •Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
    •Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with local and international customs and trade regulations.
    •Submit necessary documents to customs brokers, port authorities, and relevant stakeholders for clearance.
    3.Client Communication:
    •Act as the point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on shipment status, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues related to cargo movement.
    •Ensure timely and clear communication with clients regarding any delays, discrepancies, or challenges in the shipping process.
    4.Customs and Regulatory Compliance:
    •Ensure shipments are compliant with Egyptian and international customs regulations, including the submission of required documents for customs clearance.
    •Work with customs brokers and authorities to resolve any issues related to clearance and ensure cargo is released promptly.
  • 5.Cost Management:
    Coordinate with the pricing desk to ensure accurate quotations for clients, based on shipping requirements, routes, and carrier rates.
    •Monitor and manage operational costs, working to minimize unnecessary expenses while maintaining service quality.
    6.Carrier and Vendor Liaison:
    •Maintain strong relationships with service providers, including shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and warehouses.
  • Negotiate competitive rates and ensure timely booking and space allocation for shipments.
    7.Problem Resolution:
    •Proactively address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the shipment process, such as delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies.
    •Escalate issues to the Operations Manager when necessary and propose solutions to prevent recurring problems.
    8.Cargo Tracking and Reporting:
    •Monitor the status of shipments and provide regular tracking updates to clients and internal teams.
    •Prepare operational reports, such as shipment status updates, delivery times, and cost analyses, for review by management.
    9.Team Collaboration:
    •Collaborate with the sales, customer service, and accounting teams to ensure smooth coordination of shipments, accurate invoicing, and client satisfaction.
    •Support the Operations Manager in optimizing processes and improving overall operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in freight forwarding operations or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of international trade, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in freight management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
