Job Description
The Production Shift Leader is responsible for supervising and ensuring the efficient operation of the entire cement production process—from raw mix preparation at the crusher to the final cement and packing phase—within the kiln production section. This role is critical in meeting production and quality targets, executing daily operational plans, and maintaining strict adherence to plant safety and environmental regulations. The Shift Leader plays a key role in coordinating teams, managing equipment, and driving operational excellence across all production stages
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership:
- Serve as a safety role model and ensure strict adherence to all safety standards, including conducting daily safety talks.
- Daily Operations Management:
- Execute the daily production schedule by organizing and supervising technical personnel to ensure optimal operation, productivity, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Process Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor plant operations, detect malfunctions or abnormal conditions, and initiate or carry out necessary corrective actions.
- Operational Control:
- Personally manage the control of kiln and mill operations during complex or critical situations.
- Energy Efficiency:
- Ensure compliance with planned electrical power consumption levels.
- Equipment Care:
- Oversee proper usage of equipment to prevent unnecessary wear or damage.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Ensure accurate completion of all shift-related documentation including daily reports, shift summaries, and computer-based incident analyses.
- Breakdown Analysis:
- Evaluate the root causes of equipment breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions accordingly.
- Quality Oversight:
- Supervise quality control activities to ensure product standards are maintained throughout the shift.
Interdepartmental Interaction:
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to adapt work based on shift-specific conditions.
- Work closely with the quality control team to align sampling and analysis with shift requirements.
- Contact the on-duty manager when escalation is required.
- Collaborate with the Quarry and Process departments for integrated operations.
Job Requirements
- Education: Engineering degree or bachelor's degree in science (Chemistry)
- Cement Background is a must
- 5 years’ experience in same position is required (production background).
- Language: Good English
- Tools: Working knowledge of Word, Excel.
