Job Description
. Develop and implement strategic plans for the assigned category to drive sales, profitability, and market share growth.
· Manage the selection of products within the category, ensuring the range meets customer demand, trends, and quality standards.
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality control, and timely product delivery.
· Work with the pricing team to develop competitive pricing strategies and promotional plans for the category.
· Monitor and optimize stock levels, ensuring availability of products while avoiding overstocking.
· Manage the category’s budget, forecasting sales, tracking performance, and analyzing financial reports to identify areas of improvement.
· Lead and mentor a team of category specialists or section managers, providing direction, training, and support to ensure high performance.
· Coordinate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of plans and initiatives.
· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the category, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
· Ensure that product offerings are aligned with customer needs and expectations, providing an exceptional shopping experience.
Job Requirements
. Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent (graduated from faculty of commerce)
· Years of Experience: 5+ years
· Very good English & computer skills
· Strong understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor strategies.
· Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
· Strong negotiation and communication skills.
· Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and category management software.
· Understanding of financial modelling and budgeting.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
