Job Role
The Business Development Manager leads the company’s physical expansion strategy by identifying, evaluating, and securing optimal locations for new store openings. This role oversees market research, site feasibility, stakeholder coordination, and negotiation to ensure successful and timely execution of the store development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Expansion Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of the annual store expansion roadmap aligned with company growth plans.
- Define priority areas and expansion zones based on commercial strategy, market saturation, and demographic insights.
- Set location scouting targets for the Business Development team and track progress
2.Market Research & Opportunity Identification - Guide and oversee the team’s field visits and research to identify high-potential retail locations.
- Analyze data including population density, customer profiles, footfall trends, and competitor presence.
- Maintain a high-level view of real estate market dynamics and emerging commercial areas.
3.Site Evaluation & Approval Process - Review site assessment reports submitted by the Business Development Specialists.
- Coordinate feasibility studies with Legal, Finance, and Real Estate teams.
- Present location recommendations to top management with full business cases.
4.Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation - Establish and maintain relationships with landlords, brokers, developers, and local authorities.
- Lead negotiations related to lease terms, pricing, and contractual obligations.
- Represent the company in key external meetings and regulatory discussions.
5.Documentation & Reporting - Ensure that all site assessments, approvals, contracts, and legal documents are properly archived.
- Oversee the preparation of dashboards and reports on expansion progress, market trends, and competitor moves.
- Ensure documentation is ready for internal decision-making and executive approvals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development or real estate expansion, preferably in retail with 2 years in a Managerial level.
- Proven experience in site scouting, lease negotiations, and project coordination.
- Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel frequently across governorates.
