Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Ledger (GL) Section Head. The successful candidate will possess 7-10 years of comprehensive experience in financial management, with a strong emphasis on ERP systems, particularly SAP. This leadership role is integral to our financial operations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate Profit & Loss (P&L) statements in line with company profitability targets.
- Review monthly trial balances and P&L reports; pass rectification entries for discrepancies.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for management.
- Maintain and analyze sales reports to ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Monitor shrinkage and wastage reports across all locations, passing adjustment entries when needed.
- Oversee and validate entries for all expense accounts.
- Analyze and ensure accurate posting of payroll and wage-related transactions.
- Review and approve utilities, repairs, and maintenance invoices with management approval.
- Maintain and finalize payments to non-trade vendors.
- Process and approve documents from operations and other departments for payment, ensuring full management authorization.
- Supervise petty cash disbursements and monthly closures.
- Liaise with vendors to resolve account discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Process and post inventory transactions into the system.
- Review half-yearly and annual inventory reports.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records, including barcoding, depreciation, disposal, and monitoring.
- Prepare and control fixed asset inventory and depreciation entries.
- Approve financial documents prior to processing payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Lead and supervise the accounting staff within the GL section.
- Review yearly vacation planning and employee evaluations in coordination with the Finance Manager.
- Manage documentation of project contracts, daily entries, and financial files.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in ERP systems, especially SAP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing teams.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
