Job Description
Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead and manage the financial operations of the City. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of the annual operating budget, analyzing financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the Chief Financial Officer in strategic financial planning.
Key responsibilities include supervising the accounting team, managing internal and external financial reporting, and maintaining systems for accurate financial tracking and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage general ledger accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Handle monthly closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial review.
- Prepare and analyze various financial reports to support decision-making and ensure transparency.
- Review, process, and record monthly payroll transactions, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and policies.
- Monitor and manage grants accounting, ensuring proper allocation, tracking, and reporting of funds.
- Coordinate year-end closing activities and prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget, and conduct monthly variance analysis by comparing budgeted vs. actual figures.
- Oversee tax investigation processes, including documentation, reporting, and communication with tax authorities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for external audits, liaising with audit firms (e.g., KPMG, CAO, tax consultants, and tax authorities) to facilitate the audit process.
- Lead the implementation of the new ERP system (SAP), including testing, training, data migration, and go-live activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional certification (such as CIPS, CMA, or CPA) is an advantage.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in financial accounting
- Excellent Knowledge of the Auditing process.
- Very Good Knowledge of SAP ERP system.
- High attention to detail and accuracy with methodical working methods
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills
