Job Description

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of accounting processes. The role requires strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, and experience in working with ERP systems, preferably Odoo, to streamline financial operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the accounting team in day-to-day operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and company policies.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support business objectives.
  • Oversee tax filings, VAT submissions, and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
  • Monitor inventory accounting and ensure proper valuation and reconciliation between finance and retail operations.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Implement and optimize ERP system functionalities.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
  • Train, mentor, and develop the accounting team to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in the retail industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Odoo ERP experience is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
