Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Section Head with a strong background in oil & gas or heavy equipment industries to oversee both local and foreign procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement processes. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to optimize procurement strategies while ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for local and foreign sourcing in alignment with company objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Manage procurement activities for oil & gas or heavy equipment industry-related materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee contract management, supplier agreements, and purchasing terms to mitigate risks and optimize costs.
- Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs and project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and international trade requirements.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Develop reports and insights on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier relationships.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in the Oil & Gas or Heavy Equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international sourcing, contracts, and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of a second language is a plus.
