Role Summary: 

The Controller at Leverage plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and completeness of accounting processes and financial data at our client sites. This is not a hands-on, day-to-day operational accounting role; instead, the Controller will be responsible for reporting on the integrity of standard processes, identifying process gaps, and proactively working with client teams to implement corrective measures. This includes a strong focus on compliance and regulatory adherence. Key Responsibilities:

• Process Quality Assurance & Reporting: 
  • Develop and implement metrics and dashboards to systematically measure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of client accounting standard processes (e.g., % of payments without supporting invoices).
  • Regularly report on the integrity of client financial data and the effectiveness of their accounting processes to Leverage's leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Analyze transactional data to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential errors in client accounting records.
• Process Gap Identification & Correction: 
  • Proactively identify systemic process gaps within client accounting operations that lead to inaccuracies or inefficiencies (e.g., root cause analysis for unsupported payments).
  • Collaborate with client teams to develop and implement solutions and process improvements to address identified deficiencies and enhance financial data integrity.
  • Support the implementation of internal controls at client sites to safeguard assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.
• Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: 
  • Engage closely with external auditors and tax advisors on compliance and regulatory activities specific to client accounting functions and data quality.
  • Ensure client accounting processes align with relevant accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and local regulatory requirements in target regions (Egypt, Africa, Middle East).
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory landscapes, advising clients on necessary adaptations.
• Relationship Management & Advisory: 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders to facilitate effective process oversight and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance and advisory support to clients on best practices in accounting process management and data integrity.
  • Actively engage in training and coaching client teams on new processes or improvements, reinforcing the "empowering" aspect of Leverage's vision.
