Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Accounting & Reporting
• Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts in the general ledger.
• Monitor inventory transactions (purchases, transfers, write-offs, returns).
• Ensure accurate costing and valuation of inventory in compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports for management.
2. Inventory Control & Reconciliation
• Perform periodic stock reconciliations between system records and physical counts.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to resolve variances.
• Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged inventory and recommend provisions.
3. Cost Analysis & Process Improvement
• Analyze inventory movements and cost trends to identify inefficiencies.
• Assist in developing and improving inventory control policies and procedures.
• Support management in inventory planning and cost optimization strategies.
4. Audit & Compliance
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
5. Team Support & Guidance
• Supervise and guide junior inventory accountants or clerks (if applicable).
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure accurate inventory management.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 4–6 years in inventory or cost accounting; experience in a manufacturing or trading environment is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
